At Delebio plant Carcano has systematically invested not just in foil rolling, but also in the plants used earlier in the process keeping itself in the forefront.
Primary aluminium slabs with accurately controlled quality are produced in the foundry.
The hot and cold rolling processes are performed using ultra modern systems which make it possible to obtain rolls with a weight of over 12 tonnes and in a width of over 2 metres .
The resulting great advantages include: independence and flexibility in order acquisition and handling, in-depth knowledge of the production flow to the foil, maximum control over product quality and excellent traceability.

FOUNDRY: Around 34,000 tonnes/year of primary aluminium slabs destined for rolling are converted in the foundry.

PACKING AND SHIPMENT: A completely new area has been dedicated to the storage of finished products, packing and truck loading. Different packing systems are available to satisfy the various requirements of the customers.

CONVERTING:

DESIGN DEPT.: Carcano's Design Department handles the aesthetic and technical development of Customer requests, in terms of preparing artworks for the origination of the cylinders necessary to print aluminium foil for packaging. The designers who work there are in charge of monitoring any new project from the initial design to the final printing. All graphic projects are developed by computer running on Macintosh platform.
LACQUERING AND COLOURING: 9 machines for colouring and lacquering with primers or heat-sealing coatings
PRINT: 4 rotogravure machines for printing up to 8 colours
LAMINATING: 5 machines for laminating aluminium to paper, cardboard and plastic films
EMBOSSING: 9 embossing machines with cylinders for more than 200 patterns with the possibility of creating logos with customised patterns.
SLITTING: Aluminium can be cut into sheets of different sizes or slit into big rolls or narrow pads.
