P-MEC 2009 (MADRID 13-15 October)

Carcano attended the P-MEC Exhibition which took place in Madrid from the 13th to the 15th October 2009. Carcano thanks the many visitors of the P-MEC Exhibition 2009 in Madrid.
NEW WEST COMPLEXMandello, March 2009
The 3000 square meter extension of the production area in Mandello plant has been completed. Part of the new building has been used as Raw Materials Warehouse, with a compactable structure with more than 700 places, and part has been used to enlarge one production department with the installation of a new lacquering/laminating machine. The new machine, supplied by Cerutti Spirito Impianti, has a semiflexo and rotogravure system with special high performing drying tunnels. The machine can work up to a width of 1350 mm and it can reach the speed of 200 m/min.

Extension of the ISO 9001 certification of Delebio plant to the implementation of a sanitary self-control system in the packing/shipping area Delebio, May 2008
We are pleased to inform you that, as manufacturer of packaging materials for the food, confectionery, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, Carcano Antonio S.p.A. has obtained the extension of the ISO 9001:2000 certification of Delebio plant to the implementation of an internal sanitary self-control system in the packing/shipping area, where the final operations are carried out, as a guarantee for the process.
Such a system, developed in order to prevent and monitor all possible risks of product contamination, is based on the HACCP method and it has been implemented by integrating it with the existing Quality System, already certified ISO 9001:2000.
This achievement rewards Carcano's successful commitment to meet the market's expectations focusing on customer satisfaction. The approval obtained by our IGQ certification body represents the concretest answer to the incentives received from an ever-increasing number of customers.

Protecting the employees'safety and the environment's beauty
Delebio, December 2007
On the 11th of December Carcano unveiled the new pedestrian flyover which makes it possible for its employees to cross the very busy straight road just outside the factory to go from the parking area and canteen to the working place and back.When the project was announced, a great worry spread in the community of Delebio and among the lovers of the local landscape.
After its accomplishment all fear was banished. Its airy character, light, nearly "transparent", met with general approval. It is a beautiful piece of work which does not disturb the environment, on the contrary it refines that stretch of road.
Once again, rewarding aesthetics and renouncing inexpensiveness, Carcano has shown ist respect and attachment for the environment.
The Plant Manager of the Mandello del Lario factory leaves his position

Following Eng. Giancarlo Casati's decision to resign, notice is hereby given that beginning from the 1 st October 2007, Eng. Alberto Casartelli assumes the position of Plant Manager of the Mandello del Lario production unit.
Eng. Casati will go on co-operating with the General Management till the end of this year.
We take this opportunity to thank Eng. Casati very much for the many years of work in the company carried out with great care, expertise and humanity.
New rolling mill for over 2 metres width Delebio, May 2007
With the installation of a second rolling mill for over 2 metres wide foil (which is technically the maximum possible width nowadays), Carcano once again proves to be a company constantly concentrated on making progress and staying at the forefront.
Progress from a both quantitative and qualitative point of view, with a capacity increase of approximately 20% and the opportunity of using the best available technology.
The fact that there are only a very few factories in the world with rolling mills for foil with a finished width of over 2 metres demonstrates how important it is for Carcano to be always looking ahead. This adds to the peculiarity of having in the same production site the whole production flow, from the foundry to thin foil. The new rolling mill also means higher flexibility in planning resulting in a better customer service. Such a strategic and expensive investment (not only for the new mill, but also for a series of new machines and auxiliary equipment) is our response to the challenges imposed by today's market.
